About Lori.

 

Lori grew up in Boston where music was part of her life from the day she was born. Her grandfather Salvator led a Big Band in the 40s and taught her everything he knew about the masters of singing. Lori began singing in church at 6 years old and sang her first song onstage at 9 years old when she sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in her youth theatre's production of The Wizard of Oz. Years later her macho Italian father still cries when she sings it and she has made it a tradition to end each of her shows with this standard. Lori went onto Syracuse University where she further cultivated her craft. She has worked in Boston, London, New York, and is happy to add Los Angeles to the list.

Inspired by the Big Band era, The Great American Songbook, and artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra,  Lori grew up crooning along with her grandfather's vinyls. Lori would be happy singing standards all day, but a major part of her music focuses on how to make this music popular again, and how to make new popular music that lives up to the standards of the Greats. 

 

It isn't rare to hear Lori remaster older songs to sound recent and relevant, or to arrange current pop songs in a way that makes them sound like they're playing off vinyl.
