Chuck Curry
Chuck Curry is a trumpet player and vocalist, originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, who began playing the trumpet at the age of five.
Chuck has performed in five Broadway national tours: The Wedding Singer (2009-2010), All Shook Up (2011), Fiddler on the Roof (2012-2013), Memphis the Musical (2015), and is currently on the 2017 National Tour of Pippin (Stephen Schwartz). This tour of Pippin is the same show that won the Tony Award winner for best musical revival in 2013. Chuck has also performed with The Temptations (2002) and guitar great George Benson (2003).
Chuck obtained his Bachelor’s in music performance from Northern Arizona University in 1985 and his Masters in Music performance from Youngstown State University in 1987. Along the way, he studied from such highly esteemed trumpet greats as Esotto Pelligrini, Charlie Way and David Hickman.
Chuck has always been well received as a performer. He toured throughout Arizona extensively as a member of several musical groups, including: Limbs Akimbo (1989-1993), Azz Izz Band (1998-2007) and Bad Sneakers (2008-2009) He also toured with Limbs Akimbo in Thailand in the early 90s. This gained him international notoriety as a performer, trumpet player and singer. As a result, Curry formed a band in Thailand which he fronted as singer/trumpet soloist from 1993 through 1997.
